January 10, 2000 -- A day that will live in the memory of our family forever. That was the day that my husband, William Earl Bunn, had the heart attack that eventually left him in an anoxic coma. This website details our struggles, our joys, and our efforts on his behalf as he continues to recover from his injuries.

Submit Information

When the unthinkable happened to my family, and Earl, my young, athletic husband, was left with anoxic brain injury after a totally unexpected heart attack, I searched the web for information.  I found that there is little information available on the internet regarding Anoxic Brain Injury.  There is quite a bit of  information about, and there are chat rooms for, Traumatic Brain Injury, but there is a definite difference between anoxic and traumatic brain injury.   For those who don't know the difference, anoxic brain injury is caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain and is a diffuse injury.  Traumatic brain injury is usually caused by an accident or assault affecting the head/brain.  There are probably 50 or more traumatic brain injuries for every one anoxic injury.   Anoxic brain injury is liable to increase as the ability to revive patients at the edge of death continues to evolve.

I would like this web site to be a location for the caregivers of anoxic brain injury survivors to exchange ideas and support.

Please share your stories, questions, information and e mail addresses so that we can support each other and encourage those who will be joining us.  Please contact me, and I will post your information.
